Today we will drive to Germany. It’s about a 4 1/2 hour drive to the town of Filsen and once we actually enter the country of Germany, we hit the Autobahn. The one we are on to begin with is actually called a Bundesutobahn, which is a federal highway. There are so many different kinds of motorways that it’s hard to comprehend. We’ve been using Google Maps so far and it’s absolutely amazing how easily it guides you. The drive is a typical freeway type view. It’s not very pretty but it gets you where you wanna go.
The apartment we have rented in the little town of Filsen is beautiful; so clean and well supplied that you could stay here for a week and just relax. We are situated in the centre of the Rhine River Gorge, and it doesn’t matter where you look, the view is spectacular. Tomorrow we plan on doing some castling, but we don’t arrive until the afternoon so we will just rest and get our bearings.
