April 21, 2025 Monday Vienna, Austria

This morning, we wake up to another beautiful sunshiny day.

Funny story, the first time we use the elevator in the apartment we got to our floor and couldn’t figure out how to get out of the elevator because there were no buttons to let you out. You had to push the door open. I’ve never seen anything like that before.

Today we will leave the car at the apartment and attempt to take the public transit. Let me tell you that was a joy and a half. We ended up getting our tickets OK and it cost us about €30 for the day. It was a little expensive, but oh well

We are trying to find our way to the imperial Palace of Hofburg, but we end up at the Gardens of Schonbrunn, where one of their Osterfest is going on. Richard enjoys a bratwurst in a bun.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart statue
Although Mozart was born in Salzburg Austria, he died in Vienna at the age of 35. He was responsible for more than 800 works representing virtually every Western classical genre of the time in his short lifetime.

We’ve been watching the horse drawn carriages going through the old part of Vienna, and finally decided that we needed to take our turn on them. It just felt right you know?

This is an actual dove sitting on the statue’s finger

The beautiful Danube flowing through Vienna

The magnificent St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna.

This is a couple pictures of The Prater which is a huge amusement park. It felt like we were in Disneyland.

Our car barely fit through the opening to our hotel.

A delicious dinner where we walked from our hotel.
